A Legacy of Passion, Craftsmanship, and Timeless Beauty
Born on 22nd July 1937 in the historic city of Hyderabad, India, Mohammed Abdul Baseth was the eldest child of Mohammed Abdul Quader and Bashir Begum. Growing up in the culturally rich environment of Hyderabad alongside his brother Mohammed Abdul Ravoof, young Baseth developed an early appreciation for art, history, and beautiful objects.
At just 15 years old, in 1952, he embarked on his first journey to London, England — a trip that would ignite his lifelong passion for collectibles and antiques. After spending several years abroad, he returned to Hyderabad in 1956 and married the eldest daughter of Nawab Khurshid Ali Khan, a respected landowner from Kalwakul.
In 1959, Mohammed Abdul Baseth immigrated to Birmingham, England with his wife and two daughters. It was here that he spent most of his life, building his family and passionately pursuing his love for collectible treasures from across Europe.
Mohammed Abdul Baseth had a deep love for reading and was always surrounded by books covering a wide range of subjects — especially collectibles, art, history, and rare objects. Through years of self-learning, he developed an exceptional eye for quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
His knowledge grew through countless visits to galleries, museums, auction houses, and markets across England and Europe. He was especially passionate about discovering rare finds, limited-edition pieces, and beautifully crafted decorative objects with historical and artistic value.
Over several decades, he carefully built a remarkable personal collection of elegant and intricate collectibles. Whenever he visited Hyderabad, he would send well-packed cargo shipments filled with treasured pieces to his home in India.
